Block Party at The Station is an annual hiphop music and arts festival hosted by The Station cafe on Beacon Hill. The festival showcases and celebrates South Seattle’s diverse creative community and provides a stage for local hiphop artists, a group largely underrepresented at other Northwest music festivals. Block Party at The Station is and always will be a free event, open to every member of our community, with a particular focus on providing a safe space and spotlight for artists of color, the LGBT community, and youth voices. Our event is funded through sponsorships and grants by local businesses, arts organizations, and individuals, free from corporate or big-business influence. The festival also incorporates food vendors from local South End restaurants, live painting by Station-affiliated artists, demonstrations and performances by youth-focused organizations, and a dedicated space for kids and families to hang out.
