Rally: Divest city pensions from fossil fuels (Seattle)

15/02/2017 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
600 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98104, USA
Address: 600 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98104, USA

Do you think Seattle should still be invested in the Dakota Access Pipeline? Do you think Seattle should still be invested in Exxon-Mobil?

If the answer is no, stand up for what you believe, join us at City Hall and demand that Seattle does better!

Seattle may have divested from Wells Fargo, but the City of Seattle pension fund still has tens of millions of dollars invested in coal, tar sands and other extreme oil projects that abuse communities and are simply incompatable with a livable planet and a stable climate.

We are demanding that the City of Seattle does better — faced with the racist, science-denying Trump Administration, it is vital that Seattle aligns its money with its values.

Join us to help make this demand!

Speakers at the press conference include Former City Council Member Nick Licata, DeFundDAPL and NoDAPL organizer Rachel Heaton, Got Green’s Rashad Barber, Reverend Jenny Phillips and Council Member Kshama Sawant.

As we have already seen, when we pack City Hall with hundreds of people, we have huge power.

Please show up and make your voice heard.
